Kotlet schabowy is among the top 10 best cutlets in the world!

There is a lot to say about the benefits of Polish food, and over the years, many dishes have gained global recognition in the culinary world. Recently, the specialists from Taste Atlas also awarded „Kotlet schabowy” (Polish Breaded Pork Cutlet).

Without a doubt, the traditional Polish „Schabowy” is the favourite dish of many food lovers. However, its popularity is not only due to national sentiment. Taste Atlas, an online portal and guide to the best food in the world, also appreciated it. Despite numerous competitions, „Kotlet schabowy”managed to find a place in the top 10 of the ranking.

Despite its origins in the 19th century under the influence of Austrian and German culinary customs, it rapidly became a common feature in households and restaurants all over the country.

Normally, it consists of a thinly breaded pork chop or tenderloin fried in lard and served together with boiled potatoes, sauerkraut, and an assortment of fresh and pickled salads.

The first and second places on the podium were taken by two dishes from Argentina – „Milanesa” and „Milanesa napolitana”. In third place was the Japanese dish „Tonkatsu”. The classic „Wiener schnitzel” took only 4th place in the ranking of the best cutlets in the world. The Polish „Schabowy” was chosen in 9th place, which is a really great result with such strong competition.
