RAF Ingham – Opening of world’s first museum dedicated to the Polish WWII airmen

Date: 20-04-2024 - 21-04-2024 Hour: 10:00

Event place: RAF Ingham Heritage Centre

A museum exclusively devoted to the contributions of Polish WWII airmen to the British and Allied war efforts against Germany is set to open at the former RAF Ingham air base in Lincolnshire over the weekend.

During WWII, three Polish bomber squadrons were stationed at this location. Polish fighter pilots, owing to their training in Poland and combat experience during the German invasion of Poland in 1939 and subsequent invasion of France in 1940, were among the most experienced fliers under Royal Air Force’s command during the Battle of Britain in 1940.
