The Witcher/Wiedźmin, based on A. Sapkowski’s book, has arrived on Netflix

After years of expectation and months of an intense promotion by Netflix, the American fantasy drama ‘The Witcher/Wiedźmin’ has finally made its way on to TVs and mobile devices around the globe.

Through its first four weeks of release, 76 million viewers watched it. Netflix claims The Witcher is set to be its ‘biggest season one TV series ever’.

The series is based on a couple of books written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. There are also popular video games based on his books. The series consists of 8 episodes and tells the story of Geralt of Rivia, one of a rare breed of monster-hunters known as Witchers.

The witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world in which people often prove more wicked than beasts.
The series had its early premiere on Służewiec Racetrack in Warsaw on December 18, 2019.
The film is directed by Alik Sakharov.
