53rd Polish Ball in London

Open to all, the traditional Polish Ball is a highlight in the calendar of the UK’s Polish community. A charitable event, the Ball’s aim is also the building of British-Polish relations.

The Polish Ball returns to the Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane Hotel on Saturday 25 January, for its 53rd Edition.

The Ball is one of the most prestigious events in the calendar of British Polonia.

The Duke of Kent, the esteemed Patron, will be attending the 53rd Bal Polski.

The Ball is a fundraising event and each year, money is raised for various charitable causes. The beneficiary of the 53rd Bal Polski, Hospice of Father Eugeniusz Dutkiewicz in Gdańsk, run by the Hospice Foundation.

One of the aims of the ball is to promote Polish culture and history in the UK as well as to consolidate Polish-British relations. Because of this, each year there is a theme to the ball which is either a historical event or an important cultural figure. Last year this was Jadwiga Zamojska. In previous years, Stanisław Moniuszko, Adam Mickiewicz, Jan Kiepura, Henryk Sienkiewicz, the Reszke brothers as well as the anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino.  This year – Johannes Hevelius (Jan Heweliusz), a renowned astronomer from Gdańsk.

The British Poles are a media patron of the Ball.
