On Thursday in the late afternoon, Polish biker Robert Karaś informed about the interruption of his extreme challenge amid the Swiss Ultra Triathlon.
In the ultra-triathlon, in which Karaś was racing, the competitors have to swim a total of 38 km, ride a bike 1800 km and run 422 km.
The attempt at achieving such an extreme challenge could have had tragic consequences for Robert Karaś and his close ones. According to TVN24, Karaś took a break after running 65 kilometres, during which an ambulance arrived in a rush, taking him to the hospital.

The problem that prevailed about Karaś’s withdrawal was post-operative pain. The athlete underwent surgery just three weeks ago.
He had been amazing so far, finishing first at the swimming part. It took him less than 10 hours to swim 38 km, giving him the leadership position.

As RMF FM reports, Robert Karaś is the world champion and world record holder in the five-time Ironman distance from 2021, the triple Ironman in 2018, and the double Ironman from 2017 and 2019. He is also the Polish record holder for the Ironman distance from 2019.
