50 Cent grew up in Southside Queens and had a harsh childhood. Surrounded by violence, crime, and drugs, he had to struggle to stay alive on a daily basis. He sold crack cocaine for several years in the streets and progressively built a reputation for himself as the guy with whom it’s not wise to mess around.
On one occasion, a youngster from his hood met him in a dark street to shoot him dead. Instead of showing fear or panicking, “50” cut the boy’s face with a sharp razor, leaving him with an ugly scar, and threatening him to do worse if he happened ever to approach him again.
On 24 May 2000, Curtis Jackson was attacked by a gunman outside his grandmother’s former home. He received nine bullets, found himself in a deep coma, yet miraculously survived. He then gained fame after the release of his debut album “Get Rich or Die Tryin” in 2003. The disc was among the fastest-selling albums in history and received numerous awards.

The American rapper released another six music albums over the following years. Throughout his career, he has worked with numerous renowned artists such as Eminem, Dr Dre, Nicole Scherzinger, Olivia, Wiz Kalifa, and Chris Brown, to name but a few.
Jackson achieved success in many other fields, including the film industry. He also co-wrote the excellent book “The 50th law” together with New York Times best-selling author Robert Greene. The book provides valuable advice on how to act fearlessly, based on 50 Cent’s early years in the hood.
