Polish Senate recognised Russia as a “terrorist regime”

Poland’s Senate unanimously adopted a resolution recognising Russia as a “terrorist regime” for its invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian invaders are terrorising the inhabitants of Ukrainian cities by bombing civilian targets […] Bandits in Russian uniforms torture and murder prisoners of war and civilians in the occupied territories”, – we read in the statement.

It goes on by stating that “Europeans believed that they would never again be threatened with genocide and war crimes.”

“Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin and his apparatus of violence returned to the cruel practices of the Stalinist and Nazi regimes,” members of Poland’s upper house wrote.

They urged the international community to multiply efforts to defeat Moscow and to hold it accountable for its war crimes.

Tomasz Grodzki, the chamber speaker, told TVN24 that he is “proud that the Senate unanimously adopted the resolution”.

Similar resolutions were also adopted by the Baltic States and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
