Five Polish restaurants were selected among the world’s best

Five Polish restaurants were recently included in the prestigious annual French list of the world’s 1,000 best restaurants.

The La Liste ranking is established based on an aggregation of thousands of media publications, guidebooks, and online reviews. The five Polish restaurants that made it on the renowned list gathered 75 points or more (out of 100).

One of them with the best score (85) is Epoka, located in Warsaw’s Raffles Europejski Hotel. Zakopane’s Drukarnia Smaku is the second-best-ranked Polish restaurant with 84.5 points. It’s followed by Drzewce’s Water & Wine (75.5), Warsaw’s Nolita (75) and Kraków’s Trzy Rybki (75).

Frantzén (Stockholm), Le Bernardin (New York), and Guy Savois (Paris) are the three restaurants which jointly share the 1st place in the 2023 edition of La Liste, all of them with 99 points.

The prestigious list was launched in 2014 by Philippe Faure, a former French ambassador to Morocco, Mexico, and Japan. It’s the continuation of an initiative by the country’s foreign ministry.

According to the Polish daily Rzeczpospolita, its creation was supposed to respond to the British “World’s 50 Best” – a renowned list of the 50 best restaurants in the world or “The Best Chef ” Awards”, an award granted to the best chefs.
