In connection with the upcoming Easter of the Lord’s Resurrection, the Department of Cooperation with the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad invites you to participate in a joint project. It was inspired by the history of the Easter egg monument in Argentina – a symbol of the unity of the Polish and Ukrainian communities in this country.

“The project consists in creating a joint video with representatives of the Polish community from various parts of the world. The leitmotiv this year will be the Polish community looking for Easter eggs, and not just any – huge monuments of Easter eggs or elements of urban architecture that resemble such giant eggs” – say representatives of the Department of Cooperation with the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad. The film’s message will be to show the elements that connect the Polish community and Poles around the world, despite the borders that separate them. “We care about your involvement and the promotion of a joint initiative among compatriots living abroad of Poland” – they emphasize.

“On our side, the starting point for a familiar story will be the story of the Easter egg monument located in Argentina. This monument has become a symbol of the unity of the Polish and Ukrainian communities in Argentina. Polish and Ukrainian emigration together created a great Easter egg when they emigrated 120 years ago. They still live there in perfect harmony on South American soil. Each community has decorated half of the Easter eggs” – indicate the organizers of the initiative, adding that the monument is located at the intersection of “Ukraine” and “Polska” streets.

“We are starting the action of looking for Easter eggs! We need your recordings, on which you will show a huge Easter egg in your country of residence. We managed to find Easter eggs in 10 countries. We are curious if there are more of them!” – encourages the Department of Cooperation with the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad.

Action duration:

• from March 15 to March 28: collecting video materials (sending recordings),
• from March 29 to April 4: assembly of materials.

“We will be grateful if the sent recordings contain Easter wishes at the end with information from which part of the world they come from” – emphasize the action organisers. Due to the need to assemble the Easter material into one whole, please send videos or photos by March 29 this year at the latest. (Wednesday).
