The final round of the 2024 edition of the London International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists takes place at Ognisko Poliskie – the Polish Hearth on Wednesday 5 March 2024.
On Monday 4 March (semi-final) and Tuesday 5 March 2024 (final) 24 exceptionally talented young pianists from all over the world will be competing live.
A Gala Concert will be held in the evening on 5 March 2024. Tickets are now on sale for the prestigious evening event.
The competition is open to the public to attend for FREE during the daytime sessions.
The Jury:
This is a privileged chance for young performers to showcase their musical talent in front of the illustrious final round Jury members:
- Professor Vanessa Latarche (Head of Keyboard at the Royal College of Music),
- Professor Murray McLachlan (Head of Keyboard at Chetham’s School Of Music),
- Professor Piotr Paleczny (Juror and prize winner in the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw),
- Lady Rose Cholmondeley (President of the Chopin Society in London)
- Professor Deniz Arman Gelenbe (Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance),
- Professor Jianing Kong (Royal College of Music & Central Conservatory of Music in China),
- Artur Haftman (Artistic Director of LI-CC & SIMA Classics & internationally acclaimed concert pianist).
Evening Concert:
The evening Gala Concert will feature a repertoire of Chopin pieces from the first prize winning performers from each age category:
- category A, up to age 11
- category B, up to age 14
- category C, up to age 16
- category D, up to age 19
The standard is expected to be exceptionally high.
The Grand Prize Winner for the best overall performance will be chosen by the Jury at the conclusion of the evening concert.
Attendees will also vote to award the Gala Audience Prize. This promises to be a very inspiring musical event!
