Polish teenage driver wins a F4 race in France. Is it the birth of a new star?

A Polish driver, 16-year-old Maciej Gładysz from Tarnów achieved his first victory in Spanish Formula 4. On the French Paul Ricard race track, he reached the podium in all three races.

After successful qualifications, I knew I had the pace to fight at the top again this weekend,” Maciej Gladysz said in an interview for Sportowe Fakty.

I made a good start to the third race and tried to increase my lead, but then the car was a bit oversteered and my rivals caught up with me. However, in the final lap I was able to successfully defend against their attacks and on the last lap I helped my teammate to second place. I am delighted with this result and further valuable points for the general classification. Many thanks to the entire MP Motorsport team, our partners and all the Polish fans. It was great to take my first victory in Formula 4 and to hear the Polish national anthem from the top of the podium,’ adds Gładysz.

In the first race, Maciej Gladysz finished fourth in a group of 35 riders from all over the world, while also qualifying for the podium in the debut classification.

Gładysz rode his best race at the end of that weekend. In the final round at Paul Ricard, he was ahead of the race from start to finish, crushing his rivals’ attempts to overtake him and claiming his first victory in the Spanish F4.

After a great weekend at the French track Paul Ricard, the young Pole moved up from eighth to fourth place in the general listing. The fourth of seven rounds of the Spanish Formula 4 championship will take place on the last weekend of July at Ciudad del Motor de Aragón.
