Hansi Flick woke up the FC Barcelona beast. What a week it has been indeed for the Blaugranas. In just six days, the Catalonians gave a football lesson to Sevilla (5-1), outclassed Bayern Munich (4-1), and humiliated Real Madrid at the Bernabeu (0-4).
Robert Lewandowski scored in all of these games and continues to show what he is capable of at 36 years of age. On Saturday night, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona produced a tight first half, leaving for the locker room with 0-0 at halftime.
Shortly after the start of the second leg, “Lewy” controlled a wonderful deep pass by Casado and, in just two touches, found the back of the net. Two minutes later, the Pole produced a clinical header from a pass by Balde. This was the fastest brace scored in El Clasico in the last 59 years! A few minutes later, Lewandowski hit the post and came close to completing a legendary hat trick. Eventually, Barcelona outplayed its great rival 0-4 and RL9 was hailed Man Of the Match.
As mentioned above, Hansi Flick is doing wonders with Barça. The German coach has built a winning machine with great ambitions. In the Spanish league, the win against Madrid puts the Blaugranas 6 points ahead of Los Blancos on top of the classification. In terms of individual statistics, “El Profesor” is by far the most efficient player in Spain, with 14 goals and two assists in only 11 games, which is more than twice as much as France’s superstar Kylian Mbappe (6 goals and one assist).
FC Barcelona’s next game will be the catalan derby against Espanyol at Camp Nou on Sunday 3 November at 3.15 (UK time).
