„The standard is absolutely higher than brass playing has ever been before,” said trumpet virtuoso Alison Balsom, speaking of the Septura ensemble, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Among the highlights in the programme is a new piece by Roxanna Panufnik, who won The Ivors Classical Awards 2024 just two days ago and achieved notable success in May 2023 with her contribution to the music at the Coronation of King Charles III.
The daughter of Polish composer Sir Andrzej Panufnik, Roxanna is one of the most versatile British composers working today. A new orchestration of Coronation of King Charles III music was premiered at the iconic Last Night of the Proms that year with Marin Alsop and the BBC Singers.
The world premiere of Roxanna Panufnik’s „Seven Heavens” will take place at Wigmore Hall.
