The Gdańsk market has already competed for the award twice. In 2020, the market received 3rd place, receiving more than 48,000 votes. In 2022 it received the 2nd place on the podium. Its success will be celebrated on 3 December at the Coal Market, the heart of the Fair. One of the highlights will be a show of extreme acrobatics scheduled for 6 pm.

“We got it! Our fair in Gdańsk won the title of the Best Christmas Market in Europe! Thank you for every vote and for creating this magical atmosphere with us. This is our common victory,” Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, the president of Gdańsk said after the decision was announced. 

This year’s Market will feature some 198 stands. You will be able to buy Christmas gifts and local crafts from the Pomerania region. This market will offer a taste of 20 world cuisines, among them Polish, Lebanese, Italian and Argentinian.

“We invite you to the fair until 23 December. And from December 1, the entire city will turn into a real Christmas wonderland. Christmas trees will be lit in 15 districts. The main Christmas tree at Długi Targ will become the heart of the Christmas illuminations that will decorate Gdańsk,” the president said. 

You can visit the Gdańsk Christmas Market from 22 November to 23 December 2024. 

The market stands will operate from Sunday to Thursday from 12 pm to 8 pm, and on Fridays and Saturdays, they are open until 9 pm.
