The emerging Polish Paratrooper Memory Hall at the Polish Club in Kirkcaldy, supported by the Polish Consulate General in Edinburgh warmly invites the descendants of Polish soldiers to a Christmas gathering on 15th December 2024, from 1 PM to 6 PM.
This event is aimed at those with an interest in the history of Polish soldiers, particularly the 1st Parachute Brigade which stationed in Fife. The event will also offer the opportunity to participate in the Collective Memories in Fostering Unity project, led in collaboration with the University of St Andrews and the Polish Paratroopers Memory Hall. The project collects and explores the stories of Polish soldiers and their descendants living in Scotland.
The gathering will take place in a festive atmosphere, featuring traditional Polish borscht, festive cakes, coffee, and tea, accompanied by Polish and Scottish carols. The guests will be provided with information on the initial stages of the Polish Paratroopers Memory Hall and presented the curatorial programme focused on community co-creation of the exhibition. The event will also be a chance for the organisers to invite contributions or loans of memorabilia for display.

S.Sosabowskiego (Polish Paratroopers Memory Hall), Polskiego Klubu w Kirkcaldy i Konsulatu RP w Edynburgu, zapraszamy na spotkaniem dla potomków polskich spadochroniarzy oraz dla osób zainteresowanych historią 1SBS, które odbędzie się w nadchodzącą niedzielę w Polskim Klubie w Kirkcaldy w godzinach 13-18.
Spotkanie odbędzie się w atmosferze polskich i szkockich kolęd. Goście dowiedzą się o pierwszych etapach powstawania Izby Pamięci Gen. S.Sosabowskiego (Polish Paratroopers Memory Hall), przedstawiony zostanie program kuratorski oparty na współtworzeniu wystawy z lokalną społecznością. Organizatorzy zaproszą też chętnych do przekazywania lub wypożyczenia pamiątek na wystawę. Nie zabraknie też polskiego barszczu, polskich ciast I polskich I szkockich kolęd.
Spotkanie będzie również okazją do wzięcia udziału w projekcie Uniwersytetu St Andrews Collective Memories in Fostering Unity, który jest częścią programu powstającego Polish Paratroopers Memory Hall. Projekt ten gromadzi i bada opowieści o polskich żołnierzach i ich potomkach żyjących w Szkocji.
