How does the Polish language sound when it becomes music? Schola Cantorum. London Polish Choir invites Londoners to a special day dedicated to the beauty of the Polish language, singing and Polish music.
On 4 October, the Polish YMCA in Gunnersbury will host a unique choral language and vocal workshop, “Singing the Polish Language”, led by Polish language teacher and speech therapist Ewa Wątróbska and vocal coach Joanna Kunda.
The workshops, running from 10:00am to 4:30pm, will culminate in a concert of Polish songs at 5:00pm. The concert will feature mezzo-soprano Jadwiga Słomka, baritone Maciej Franczak, pianist Marta Zelewska, guitarist Tomasz Łopuch, the Schola Cantorum. London Polish Choir, conducted by Katarzyna Fuksa, as well as workshop participants.
It promises to be a wonderful celebration of the Polish language and the rich tradition of Polish song – bringing together music, voice and the Polish community in London.
Advance registration is required for the workshops and to secure free tickets for the concert. Seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
