Towards the end of January, Ognisko invites you for an evening with Jack Fairweather, author of the book „The Volunteer: The True History of the Resistance Hero who Infiltrated Auschwitz” commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

The book tells the true story of a Polish underground operative called Witold Pilecki who accepted a mission to uncover the fate of thousands of people being interned at the German Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz, and his attempts to bring the horrendous crime to the knowledge of the Allies.
