British historian Roger Moorhouse believes that President Andrzej Duda did well by boycotting a Jerusalem conference on the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. According to the historian, the fact that Duda was not allowed to speak is regrettable.
“This event in Jerusalem has been manipulated. The fact that President Duda will not be able to speak and refer to Vladimir Putin’s words is absolutely regrettable. The fact that others will be able to speak and to present their version of events, in particular Putin, and the Polish president won’t, is absolutely unfair and deplorable,” said Moorhouse.
„The Polish President’s boycott of this event is in my opinion the right thing. It drew attention to the matter, newspapers around the world wrote about it. This is the best what can be done: to speak the truth consistently” emphasised Moorhouse.
