The biggest snow maze in the world is in Zakopane

You probably know Zakopane, “the winter capital of Poland”. But Zakopane is also a home of  the world’s largest snow maze – Snowlandia with the ice labyrinth covering almost 3000 square metres.

This unique labyrinth was installed for the first time a couple of years ago in the Zakopane resort and ever since the opening locals and tourists have loved it.

Each year it takes about a month (and 50 workers) to piece together over 60,000 ice blocks and build the maze.

The maze with dozens of winding alleys and walls made of ice two-metres thick also features a castle with hidden tunnels.

It’s something for true winter lovers! The maze has proved to be a big hit with visitors – one of many reasons to visit Poland this winter season.
