Amedeo Modigliani’s portrait de Lunia Czechowska to be auctioned at Christie’s London

On 5 March at 6 PM, Christie’s London will host an exceptional auction featuring Portrait de Lunia Czechowska by Amedeo Modigliani.

Lunia Czechowska was one of Modigliani’s most significant muses and models. She was the wife of Polish writer and art dealer Leopold Zborowski, a close friend and patron of the artist. Modigliani painted several portraits of Lunia, capturing her melancholic beauty in his distinctive style—elongated forms, delicate colours, and expressive lines, making her image one of his most recognisable works.

Created between 1917 and 1918, Portrait de Lunia Czechowska has passed through the collections of many renowned art dealers and collectors. Now, it returns to auction, drawing immense interest from art lovers worldwide.
