Poles and Greeks have both a shared history and values. After the Greek Civil War, Poland accepted thousands of Greek refugees. Poles took part in the battles for Greek freedom in the 19th century. The recognition of Poland’s independence by Greece a hundred years ago was of symbolic importance as an assurance that for Greece there is no other Europe except that in which Poland has its own important position.
Both națions and their people all over the world are commemorating this very significant milestone. We are delighted to honour all those on this occasion.
This concert of the Polish singer will be attended by specially invited guests.
