Poland’s superstar Robert Lewandowski confirmed to the Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo that he will play the next season with Barça.
“I want to win many titles with this club […] I believe we can play stronger and win trophies in the upcoming season […] From the bottom of my heart, I want to give as much as possible to our team and club,” he explained.
Lewandowski also highlighted his good health, noting that he still feels strong both physically and mentally. The Polish striker expressed confidence that the frequent appearances of young players this season will enhance the club’s quality and strength in the 2024-25 competitions.
The Blaugrana’s number 9 also reassured his fans that retirement is not yet around the corner. He assured that he feels fit and that he feels like “the same player he was three or four seasons ago”. His statistics tend to suggest that he is right.
As he is approaching his 36th birthday, Lewy is about to finish yet another season as one of the most efficient players of La Liga with 18 goals and 8 assists, a few days before the last match of the season against Sevilla. As far as his career statistics are concerned, the Pole is approaching the symbolic threshold of 650 goals. Among active players, only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have achieved that.
In the nearest future, the talented Varsovian will be mainly focusing on Poland’s national team, which somehow made it to the Euro 2024. The White Eagles will have a particularly difficult task in Germany. Their group is composed of France, the Netherlands and Austria.
