Iga Świątek wins her third French Open in a row!

Iga Świątek wrote yet another page in the history of tennis. The Pole defeated the sensation of the tournament, Jasmine Paolini, in straight sets (6-2; 6-1) and won her third French Open in a row.

The world number 1 started entering the court as the big favourite. Her last loss at Roland Garros took place back in 2021 against Maria Sakkari. Since then, Świątek is simply invincible in Paris. Jasmine Paolini knew all of that and started the match knowing she had absolutely nothing to lose facing the final boss.

The match started surprisingly as Paolini got two break points at 1-1. She broke at the first chance she got. But Swiątek was not impressed. She immediately broke back to love, before taking back the lead. Shortly after, Paolini commited a double fault, which allowed Iga to take control of the match this first set (4-2). There were not coming back from that point on and Iga sealed the first set with authority (6-2).

The second set turned into a demolition. Iga started playing as if she had a train to catch. The Pole became virtually unplayable, leaving her bamboozled opponent no chance (6-1). The fate of this one-sided final was decided in just one hour and ten minutes.

With this third win in a row at Porte d’Auteuil, the Varsovian wins her fifth grand slam title at the age of 23. This confirms yet again what a legendary player she already is at such a young age. Her domination on the WTA tour is so significant that tennis observers have no other choice than to view her as one of the greatest ever in her discipline.

Now the time has come for the Polish champion to have some well-deserved rest before preparing for the grass season, where she will be impatiently awaited by her fans.
