Less and less Poles are moving to the UK

Poles are less and less keen on leaving their homeland and moving to Western Europe. The 2021 Removals report reveals that the most popular destinations for Poles remain Germany, the UK, and the Netherlands. Nevertheless, it is worth noticing that there has been a recent drop in the share of removals to the UK by almost 9 % between 2020 and 2021.

We are observing a decline in interest in moving to Great Britain. The share of returns from this country to Poland is also falling compared to other destinations, such as, for example, returns from Germany or the Netherlands” Michał Brzeziński, CEO of Clicktrans told MSN Finance.

Last year, one out of five Poles who decided to move abroad picked Germany as a destination. It is the first time since 2012 that the UK is not ranked in the first place when it comes to countries to which Poles are moving to.

Another element which is shown by the survey is that in Poland itself, the new trend consists of leaving large cities. This phenomenon can partly be explained by the normalising remote work, which encourages people to organise their everyday life in the countryside.
