The German invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939 opened World War Two in Europe, yet is one of the most misunderstood campaigns of the entire conflict. In this talk, historian Roger Moorhouse will make the case for the campaign’s significance as a prelude to all that followed, and will challenge some of the myths that have grown up around it. The Polish September Campaign of 1939 is the subject of his new book „First to Fight”.
