From this Monday, there will no longer be an obligation to wear a face mask in indoor spaces. The only exception applies in healthcare facilities, where they will still be required.
Even though this long-awaited announcement is welcomed with relief, Adam Niedzielski insisted on the fact that the pandemic is not yet completely over, and therefore, he advises continuing wearing face masks at least in crowded spaces.
Another significant update in the epidemiological regulations is the abolishing of the quarantine requirements for those infected by the coronavirus. From now on, travellers arriving in Poland will no longer be obligated to enter quarantine.
The health minister further emphasised that people who test positive for COVID-19 will still be expected to isolate, as RMF24 reports. Furthermore, from the 1st of April, COVID tests will only be carried out on doctor’s orders.
Niedzielski drew attention to the fact that the number of COVID infections has been dropping significantly since the peak which could be observed in early February.
On Thursday, the 24th of March, less than 9,000 new cases have been reported, which corresponds to a decrease by almost 26% compared with a week earlier.
