The German Family Business Foundation (Familienunternehmen) recently ranked Poland 10th in its yearly ranking of the world’s most competitive economies in terms of attractiveness for foreign investors.

The ranking is part of a larger analysis conducted by the Family Business foundation, which aims at assessing the German positioning in relations with other states.
The elements taken into account include criteria such as “infrastructure and institutions”, “taxes”, “labour costs”, “productivity”, human capital”, “energy” and “regulation”.
Interestingly, Germany fell by four positions in the 2022 edition of the report and is now ranked (only) 18th in comparison with 2020.
In contrast, Poland climbed by two positions compared with 2two years ago, which shows that COVID-19 had, fortunately, limited consequences on the Polish economic potential compared with several of its European partners.
In most categories, Poland ranked higher than its Western neighbour (even 3rd when it comes to taxes!). It’s worth mentioning that Poland would be ranked even higher if the infrastructure wasn’t considered.
The USA remains at the top of the ranking, followed by Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, and Denmark.
