Join Ognisko Polskie to hear Charles Crawford CMG sharing stories from his time in Poland, and the challenges found in the contrast between Polish and British culture especially when highlighted by the differences in the two languages.

Charles Crawford CMG is a public speaking and negotiation expert. He previously was a diplomat with 28 years’ experience in the UK diplomatic service, mainly dealing with the strategic policy issues arising from the end of communism and apartheid. He served as British Ambassador to Poland, Serbia/Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Crawford is a commentator on international issues appearing on BBC, Sky, ITV and CNN and writing for the Daily Telegraph. His book on leadership communication Speeches for Leaders was published in 2016. In 2016 and 2017 he won Cicero Awards for speechwriting; a speech on global security issues by Sir John Sawers, former Chief of MI6, and on green funerals by an Irish entrepreneur.

He currently is interested in philosophy, with particular focus on Wittgenstein and language. (https://charlescrawford.biz)
