On the 18th of November, the TVP World news channel was launched, which informs about what is happening in Poland, in the world, and above all on the Polish-Belarusian border.
The new channel broadcasts 7 days a week and 24 hours a day in English. The head of the Polish public TV Jacek Kurski emphasised the importance of this initiative by stating that Poland needs to counter the information war that has been launched by media outlets aligned with the Lukashenko regime as well as the Kreml.

“Poland has to oppose it and Polish public media (…) feel responsible for it and defending the Polish raison d’état. That is why we accelerated the starting of an English-language channel broadcasting 24/7 which will show the whole world the truth about what is happening on Polish-Belarussian border,” he explained.
Media expert Piotr Celiński from the Marie Skłodowska-Curie University in Lublin, agrees with the necessity of such an undertaking.
“The launching of this news channel is necessary because all major European countries (…) have their own channels in which they present their own interpretation of what is happening,” he told TVP INFO.
According to Broadband TV News, TVP World was viewed over 200,000 times on its official website in the first four days following its creation.
TVP World can be watched for free on the Internet via the website tvpworld.com,
via satellite TV and on TVP INFO between 1 am and 5 am Polish time. TVP World is also accessible on Youtube where it has already secured 23,700 subscriptions.
Every day TVP World broadcasts the English-language news service Flash News and a special news service “Report from the border” on the current hybrid attack on Poland’s Eastern border in Polish, English, French, Russian and Arabic.
