Karolina Bielawska originates from Łódź and is a student of the Łódź University of Technology. The young lady has been designated as the most beautiful woman in the world by the jury of the 70th edition of the Miss World award. The ceremony took place in Puerto Rico’s capital, San Juan.

40 young women from all across the world took part in the contest, which was supposed to take place in December but was eventually postponed to the 16th of March due to the epidemiological situation.

Karolina Bielawska was emotional when the speakers announced her triumph. „When I heard my name, I was shocked. I can’t believe it. I have the honour of wearing the Miss World crown and I can’t wait to get to work,” she said, with tears of joy in her eyes. 

“I will remember this amazing competition in Puerto Rico for the rest of my life,” she added.

The last Pole who has won the prestigious award of Miss World was Anna Kręglicka, all the way back in 1989. In turn, it is not the first award won by Karolina Bielawska. In 2019, the young Pole already won the Miss Polonia contest.

Several calls for peace were made during the ceremony in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine. Karolina Bielawska herself was carrying candles on stage as a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people who have been targeted by brutal military attacks from Russia in the past weeks.
