Despite ongoing police investigations, police and public searches, leaflet posting and hand outs and appeals for information, Maty’s whereabouts is still unknown. The search for Mateusz has involved a number of resources; CCTV enquiries, house to house, specialist search officers, neighbourhood police patrols, underwater search teams, drones, dogs and helicopters.
Detective Inspector Jordan Piper from Wakefield CID said: “Despite the ongoing investigation and media appeals to find Mateusz, we have not seen or heard from him since January 19”.
Mateusz is described as 5ft 2ins tall, of slim build with short brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a blue and black hooded jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms with thick blue stripe and blue trainers with white stripes.
Tanya Shariff, Mateusz neighbour and friend who set up a Facebook group to find the boy, said to the British Poles portal: “We have promised Matys family we won’t give up looking for him. The main priority is to not stop looking while there is hope and not let Mateusz become just another missing person, by keeping his face out there and on as many social media platforms as possible”.
“We are asking all readers of the British Poles portal to help us and help the family. We set up the #comehomemateusz so we could track where the posts are going.” – Tanya adds.
Please continue to share and help bring Maty home. Any information or suspected sightings should be reported to the police using the 101 number or use the Live Chat facility quoting log 1246 of 19 January.
