The new queen of tennis Iga Świątek continues to write the history of her sport!

Iga Swiątek has just won her fifth consecutive WTA tournament in Rome after defeating the number 7 Ons Jabeur in two straight sets (6-2, 6-2).

The young Polish star extended her winning streak to 28 consecutive matches.

Iga admitted that at the beginning of the tournament she “didn’t know it would be possible to keep up with the streak and with all the wins,” Swiątek said.

I’m pretty happy I did it really step by step and I just focused on the right things because I think it led to all the success this week […]. It was a long path for me from the beginning, but I’m really proud of myself and my team,” said after her match.

Besides accomplishing an outstanding season, the young Varsovian is writing the history of her sport. She is just the second player after Serena Williams to ever win four (or more) WTA 1000 titles in a single season.

Iga Światek has won every single WTA 1000 in which she has contested this season. She even currently holds 5 of the last 9 WTA 1000 titles. The new queen of tennis reigns on her sport fairly, but with authority.

She is getting closer to another record detained by one of the Williams sisters, this time Venus. The latter won 35 consecutive games back in 2000. Iga is now at 28 consecutive wins. Everything is now possible.
