After a short break distinguished pianist Tomasz Lis returns to the initimate St. Wilfrid’s Hall of Brompton Oratoryto to play music by some of his favourite composers. Programme will begin with Bach showing his mastery of French style followed by Mozart with one of his greatest and most dramatic sonatas. Haydn’s last sonata is his most daring and expansive, written for an outstanding female pianist based in London while Chopin’s Ballade No. 3 find the great Pole at his most lirycal and elusive.
Programme will include:
- J.S.Bach – French Suite No. 6 in E, BWV 817
- W.A.Mozart – Sonata in C, K457
- J.Haydn – Sonata in E flat, Hob.XVI/52
- F.Chopin – Ballade No. 3 in A flat, Op.47
Concert will last approximately one hour with spoken introductions about the music and no interval.
