Triumf Serca (Triumph of the Heart) – a private screening of the film about St Maximilian Kolbe

On behalf of the organisers, we warmly invite you to a screening of the exceptional film Triumf Serca (Triumph of the Heart) about one of the greatest Polish heroes of WWII, Father Maximilian Kolbe. The British premiere will take place at the Polish Social and Cultural Centre POSK in London.

The film was chosen as “Best Polish Film of the Year 2025” by readers of Webfilm. It is a moving and deeply evocative work that should not be missed. Set in 1941 in German-occupied Poland, the story follows St Maximilian Kolbe and his companions as they overcome the darkness of Auschwitz.

After one prisoner escapes, SS guards select ten prisoners to be starved to death as punishment. Father Kolbe volunteers to take the place of a family man who begged the guards for mercy. For two weeks he remains in the starvation bunker, offering comfort and prayer to the other men until he is one of the last left alive.

As he nears death, news of his actions and those of the other men spreads across the camp, providing light and dignity in the worst of places. In a world rife with division and conflict, Triumph of the Heart serves as a universal appeal for goodness, faith, and humanity.
