There are many good reasons to elect Warsaw as Europe’s best destination. The Polish capital offers numerous exciting attractions. Besides the obvious must-see such as the Old Town, the Royal Castle, and the Wilanów one with its magical garden, Warsaw offers what is required to please culture lovers (operas, theatres, cinemas,…) as well as party people (clubs, various types of bars,…). There are vegan restaurants, sugar-free bakeries, open-air exhibitions, beautiful libraries, football stadiums, and much more!

Warsaw, just like Poland in the broader sense, is also known for being safe. There are neither terrorist attacks nor “no-go zones” to be seen there. European Best Destinations even ranks the Polish capital among the 20 safest cities in Europe. As a general rule, women walk through the streets or use public transportation at night without worrying about being assaulted.

Warsaw also has the characteristic of being clean. In comparison to many Western European capitals, Warsaw appears spotless. It is not rare to see communal workers cleaning the streets and taking away rubbish. Public toilets are usually in a decent state and are available for free in metro stations from 6 am to 10 pm. Hygiene is important to Poles and can be felt in their capital.

The greenness of the Polish capital is another positive point. According to Poland Travel, almost one-fourth of the Warsaw area is composed of fields, parks, green squares, and lush gardens, making Warsaw a European metropolis that truly offers its visitors a breath of fresh air. A good illustration of this is the massive Kampinoski National Park, which is protected as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reservation.

The city offers a large choice when it comes to public transportation. The two metro lines allow you to reach key points of the city. It is also the case for trams and buses. All for an affordable price. Besides, Uber and electric scooters can be found at virtually every corner, and bicycle roads are large and safe. For those who prefer the car, finding a parking spot is relatively easy in the city centre, and again for a reasonable price.

So without further due, take a minute of your time and vote for Warsaw as the European Best Destination 2023!
