Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki proudly announced that the recent international donors’ conference hosted jointly by Poland and Sweden in Warsaw has raised over €7 billion (£6 billion) for Ukraine.
“Today shows that our support for Ukraine continues and there are no selfish ones among us,” the Polish Prime Minister said during the press conference at the end of the event, alongside his Swedish counterpart Magdalena Andersson.
“Let’s make sure that this money reaches the Ukrainians as quickly and efficiently as possible […] If selfishness had won, Putin would win. If unity wins, Ukraine will win, and so will all of us,” – he added.

In addition to financial commitments, the donors discussed how private entities, societies, NGOs and other organisations could be mobilised to help support and rebuild the Ukrainian state and its economy.
This international donors’ event was organised in cooperation with the heads of the European Commission and the European Council. The latter discussed the imposition of additional sanctions to be imposed on Russia with Polish and Swedish leaders.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was also given the opportunity to address the participants of the conference. He insisted on the urgency of launching the enlargement process of the EU towards Ukraine.

As PAP reports, Zelensky emphasised that “[Ukrainians] are counting on not only promises, [they] expect concrete steps.”
“I am grateful to all the conference participants for being with us and fighting for freedom, for millions of Europeans – not only Ukrainians, but all those who may be threatened by tyranny,” he added.
