The special guests included His Excellency Arkady Rzegocki, the Ambassador of Poland to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. At the event, the ambassador highlighted the importance of polish diplomacy efforts and our involvement in projects as Three Seas Initiative, Eastern Partnership and The Visegrád Group. Other excellent panellists which participated in this event were Rt. Colonel Ray Wojcik, director of CEPA Warsaw; Professor Richard Whitman, the University of Kent, Liudas Zdanavičius Research fellow at the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania and Brendan Donnelly, Director of Federal Trust for Education and Research who was also the moderator at the event.

The event was also an occasion to present a special report under the same title  NATO: 1949 – 1999 – 2019. The 20 years of Poland in the 70 years of the Alliance. The booklet is composed of a series of well informed and engaging essays which treat about the current diplomatic and security challenges in European security, about the role of NATO and relations between its partners. Essays reflect on the history of the past 20 years of Poland in NATO structures and the achievements of Alliance in successfully maintaining the peace and security in Europe in the past 70 years. A great part of the publication elaborates about the achievements of individual countries in cooperation with NATO and discuss the forthcoming challenges. The need for new approaches and security measures within the Baltic Sea Region are also extensively discussed in the publication.

The report is a compelling lecture for all who are interested in the most recent developments and state of affairs in the Central European Region and the role of NATO. A few essays written by American and European analysts and experts who comment about the NATO future and perspectives are also highly recommended. The report presents a stimulating perspective especially in the light of the next week NATO summit in London. The familiarisation with the report is a perfect occasion to grasp a better understanding of the NATO main goals and challenges in the upcoming future. This is a great publication which helps to develop a better understanding of the context of Central European security framework and its key issues.

The analogous events were also held in another 12 major European cities and in the Washington DC.
