4th European Political Community meeting to start at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire

The UK government will host the EPC meeting to bring European leaders together to discuss future cooperation in the fields of aid for Ukraine, energy, connectivity and migration issues.

The EPC meeting brings together around 50 European leaders to cooperate on important issues. It allows European countries to progress discussions which affect the continent as a whole, and to hold bilateral discussions and smaller working groups of particular countries,” the organiser says in the description of the event.

The central part of the meeting will be conducted in the form of two roundtables. The one dedicated to defending and securing democracy will be co-chaired by President of the European Council Charles Michel and Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović.

A special guest at the invitation of the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will be the head of the Belarussian opposition Svitlana Tsikhanouskaya.

Leaders invited to that roundtable will discuss how to address threats targeting European democracies, including disinformation and foreign information manipulation.

The guests of the forum will be leaders from all 27 EU countries as well as representatives of Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

As informed by the Polish government press centre, the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk will participate in the event.

So far, the European Political Community has met three times. To discuss peace and security issues, especially Russia’s war in Ukraine in Prague, in October 2022. Later the meeting was called to Moldova, in June 2023, to discuss peace and security, energy resilience connectivity and mobility in Europe. And last time, when the summit took place in Granada, in October 2023, the guests discussed safety and geostrategy.
