The project of “Polish After-School Clubs” consists of classes in British primary and secondary schools promoting the beauty of the Polish language and the richness of Polish heritage.
The initiative aims to shape good British-Polish relations, mainly among youngsters. Understandably, it targets young Poles living in the UK in particular. The latter are being taught about the Polish language, Poland’s culture, its history, tradition and geography among other things.
However, given the large scale of the Polish diaspora present across the UK, the “Polish After-School Clubs” can be of big use for young native Brits as well in getting to better know their comrades of Polish origin.
On the Polish government’s official website, the emphasis is put on the importance of such activities in the promotion of bilingualism and its benefits among children in Great Britain.
