For the last few years, major changes have been observed when it comes to the choices of young Poles regarding their places of study. There are currently nearly as many Polish students choosing the Netherlands as the UK for their studies.
The recent data provided by Elab Education Laboratory reveals that Polish students tend to diversify their geographical choices when it comes to finding a place to study.
The UK has traditionally been among the most popular destination for such students. However, Polish students’ interest in studying in the Islands is gradually decreasing.
“Last year, applications submitted to universities in this country accounted for as much as 46 % […] This year, only 25 % […] It may therefore turn out that next year the Netherlands will dethrone Great Britain and become a leader” – Agata Pochwała, from the Elab Education Laboratory told the media.
“When applying for foreign studies, Poles […] look for the possibility of additional inter-university exchanges. They are also looking for universities that conduct extensive cooperation with universities in other countries and on other continents” – she explained.
“Young people want to build an international CV early in their career and be able to study in several places – also within one study program. Innovation and the ability to use the most modern technologies in their studies, often not yet available at Polish universities, are also important for them” – she added.
The study took applications for both undergraduate and graduate studies into consideration.
