On 20 March 2019, a fisherman in the Humber Estuary discovered the remains of Libby Squire’s body. The 21-year-old student from Hull had been missing for seven weeks.
Around a week after her disappearance, a young Pole named Pawel Relowicz, 26, was arrested. Examinations found semen in Squire’s body, which matched that of the suspect.

In October 2019, Relowicz was charged with rape and murder. Over a year later, he was eventually convicted of both offences and sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum of 27 years before he would be eligible for parole.
Sky Crime decided to tell this chilling story by releasing a three-part series on the matter entitled “Libby, are you home yet”. The latter gives the viewer access to Libby’s family, friends, and relatives. It depicts the investigation conducted by the police in the days and weeks which followed Libby’s death and gives an insight into the arrest of Pawel Relowicz.

Hull Live obtained a clip video of the series in which Relowicz is placed in the back of a police car and handcuffed. Interrogated by the officers, the then 24-year-old smirks and laughs when informed about the charges against him.

As Manchester Evening News report, Detective Sergeant Paul Walker, of Humberside Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “Pawel was not really emotional, not really explaining anything to us. He seemed to be laughing and smiling and seemed to be taking it as some kind of joke.„
The Polish married father-of-two is serving at least 27 years behind bars. He denied raping and murdering Libby.

The mother of Libby, Lisa Squire wants to meet Relowicz to find out exactly what happened to her daughter. She told BBC Breakfast: „There are questions I need to ask (…) And he’s the only one who has the answers, and you know, the last seven or eight minutes of her life, I don’t know the answer and he has the key to that. So, yeah, ideally, I’d like for him to tell me how she died, but I don’t think he will. My main aim is to get some information from him about how she was (…) I don’t hate him. I’m not angry with him. I just want the information from him. I don’t hate him because I don’t think about him. And I’m not angry because, for me, anger is very destructive, and you know, it’s very draining (…) For me, I feel that if I don’t do it, I’ll be letting her down in a way.”
Lisa Pawel Relowicz has agreed to meet Lisa Squire.
