The Chopin Society UK invites you to the next concert of the Year of Polish Pianists, featuring a recital by the outstanding pianist Lucas Krupinski. Join us in London for an unforgettable evening of exceptional artistry and timeless Polish piano music.
Polish concert pianist Lucas Krupinski is the winner of the 7th San Marino International Piano Competition and all of its contest prizes – the Audience Award, the Music Critics’ Award, and the Orchestra Award.
Lucas was a finalist at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Blozano, and has won first prizes in international piano competition in Hannover (Chopin Geselschaft), Aachen (ClaviCologne), Goerlitz (MeetingPoint Music Messiaen 2020) and the Yamaha Foundation of Europe. As a semi-finalist he ranked amongst the best twenty pianists at the 17th Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw.
Lucas was born in Warsaw in Poland in 1992. He graduated from the OSM Zenon Brzewski Music School, where he studied with Professor Joanna Ławrynowicz. He completed his studies at the Frederic Chopin University in Warsaw with “Magna cum Laude” distinction under the supervision of Professor Alicja Paleta-Bugaj and Dr. Konrad Skolarski. He continued his studies with Professor Arie Vardi at Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media (2017-2018) and with Professor Dmitri Alexeev at the Royal College of Music in London (2018-2019). Since 2024 he has been enrolled in the doctoral programme at the Frederic Chopin University of Warsaw.
Lucas Krupinski is a Steinway Artist, represented by Ludwig van Beethoven Association and Madam Elzbieta Penderecki.
The Chopin Society UK’s piano, a fine 2015 Hamburg Steinway Model B Grand, is maintained by Steinways and tuned by them immediately before each performance. It was recently voiced by Steinway’s Head of Concert & Artists’ Services, Ulrich Gerhartz.
After the concert The Chopin Society is offering a delicious buffet tea of freshly-made sandwiches, savouries, homemade cakes and chocolate biscuits, with a choice of a glass of excellent wine, tea, coffee or juice. The artists usually attend the tea and you can meet them. Tea tickets are sold on the door. They are £10 (standard), £5 for students and schoolchildren. We can cater for up to 70.
