The British company Engineerd Arts Ltd., which specialises in the creation of entertainment humanoid robots, created an impressive new machine called Ameca.
The Ameca prototype was recently showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The journalists present at the event could have a chat with the humanoid robot about the event.
Despite not having been specifically programmed for walking and making complex movements, Engineered Arts’ latest prowess impresses by its physical gestures, which clearly remind of human emotions. To do so, Ameca uses a system based on 17 tiny motors located in its face.
The Director of Operations at Engineered Arts noted that it may take another decade before such humanoid robots are seen in a commercial or private setting.

He added that Ameca is essentially a platform for developing AI, or a place where machine learning and AI systems can be tested.
According to its developers, Ameca is the most advanced human-like robot which has seen daylight so far.
