UK Export Finance will support the export of air defence systems to Poland

The UK government supports the export of air defence systems and associated goods and services (the 'NAREW Programme’) by the UK and Polish defence companies MBDA UK Limited and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa,” the Export Finance informed in a press statement.

The decision will mean that the UKEF (United Kingdom Export Finance) will have to increase its spending limit to some £15bn of risk for the Polish market on which the new air defence will be produced in cooperation with the British partner companies.

The components of the missile kit are to be supplied by the British company MBDA UK Ltd, part of the European industrial group MBDA. The PGZ-NAREW consortium signed a contract with it in 2023.

The deal, according to military publisher ZBiAM, will include ‘more than 1,000’ CAMM-ER guided missiles, ‘more than 100’ iLauncher launchers. Its value exceeds £4bn, or more than £20bn.

Thanks to the UK Export Finance guarantees, the cooperation can be strengthened and the British company can also take out a loan for its tasks. The parties also search for additional financing from commercial banks, but will not inform about the details.
