The Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defence Marcin Ociepa announced that several convoys with ammunitions already reached Ukraine.
Poland is indeed providing Ukraine with Piorun ammunition and manual anti-aircraft missiles, as well as helmets and bulletproof vests.
„Our next convoy, this time with ammunition, has already arrived in Ukraine,” Ociepa wrote on Facebook last Sunday.
In early February, Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak informed that the government had adopted a resolution on aid to Ukraine. „We will provide the most modern Polish equipment – Piorun portable anti-aircraft missile systems and ammunition,” he announced back then.

On Saturday, the head of the National Security Bureau, Paweł Soloch, announced that Poland would continue to supply Piorun ammunition and manual anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine, as well as helmets and bulletproof vests.
He also announced that – „perhaps” – arms shipments from other European countries will be directed by land to Ukraine through our territory.

The above-mentioned Piorun missile is among the most modern Polish military devices which have already been used under its previous form named Grom in the context of the war in Georgia in 2008.
Poles are well aware that the Russian offensive can only be stopped if the West shows unity and unquestionable strength in these highly unstable times.
The attitude of appeasement towards Russia which was practised by several Western European countries such as France, Germany and Austria needs to come to an end.
