Roman Abramovich and Ukrainian peace negotiators suffer poisoning

Roman Abramovitch and at least two senior members of the Ukrainian team developed symptoms including constant and painful tearing, red eyes, as well as peeling skin on their hands and face.

The Chelsea FC boss shuttled between Moscow and Lviv following has met in Kyiv. The identity of the poisoners remains obviously “unknown”.

An investigation has been launched by Christo Grozev, a Bellingcat open-source collective investigator who recently concluded that Russian intelligence services poisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny with a nerve agent in 2020.

Back in 2018,  blamed Russia’s intelligence services for a nerve-agent attack on a former Russian military officer, Sergei Skripal, who defected to the UK as well as his daughter, Yulia.

Even though both of them survived, a British woman later died after coming into contact with the nerve agent by accident.

Roman Abramovich used to be a relatively close relation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. For the last few weeks, the latter got involved in several initiatives aiming at stopping the ongoing war.

The Russian billionaire was seen in Belarus in late February as initial, official talks started between Moscow and Kyiv.
