Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov got angry at British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss in one of his recent shows. 

Russia1’s journalist attacked Liz Truss on air following her decision to impose sanctions on the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill for his ostensible support of the invasion of Ukraine.

Solovyov called the Foreign Secretary an „illiterate worthless creature” and accused the UK of launching a „religious war” on the Russian Orthodox Christians.  

„Well, today what we had been waiting for a long time finally happened […] England is no longer just an enemy of Russia, I don’t mean the people of England, nor English culture, nor William Shakespeare, no, nor Lord Byron […] But a certain Liz Truss, who is proud of the fact that she’s sanctioned our Patriarch” – Solovyov told his viewers. 

„Well, what is the meaning of this? That’s to say Christians are being persecuted by that illiterate worthless creature. Who fancies herself foreign secretary of […] a country that betrayed its faith because of its King’s lust […] – he continued.

„What even is this? And now she, who is so full of herself, is attempting to persecute our Most Holy Patriarch?” 

„That’s to say, is Liz Truss declaring a religious war on Russia and all Orthodoxy? […] And most importantly, what kind of megalomania must that poorly educated woman have who nonetheless graduates from a respectable institution? […] There’s a place for people like her in hell!” – the TV presenter concluded.
