Ukraine’s ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Zvarych, has expressed gratitude to Polish President Andrzej Duda and a delegation of Polish officials for attending a peace summit in Switzerland.
The First Global Peace Summit, held in Switzerland, brought together leaders from over 90 countries and international organisations to discuss peace and security.
„I thank Polish President Andrzej Duda and the entire Polish delegation for participating in the historic First Global Peace Summit,” Zvarych wrote on the X social media platform.
„Poland has reaffirmed its leadership and responsible stance in defence of international law and territorial integrity within internationally recognised borders” – he added.
Zvarych emphasised that achieving a just peace in Ukraine and defeating the „colonial policies of the Russian aggressor” align with Poland’s national interest, contributing to efforts to ensure peace and prosperity for future generations.
The peace summit in Buergenstock, Switzerland, organised by Switzerland and Ukraine, ended on Sunday. European leaders in attendance included French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and British PM Rishi Sunak.
