Polish firefighters rescued two US soldiers from a river in a flood

Firefighters rescued two American soldiers who fell into the Bóbr River in Trzebień (Dolnośląskie Province). The two soldiers were returning to their unit and attempted to cross the river alone. After the rescue operation, both were transported to the unit where they were stationed.

They swam in the river for around 200 m and were able to catch tree branches to stop moving. Then they were able to move out of the river and stay at anti-flood embankments. The soldiers were finally taken to a rescue boat and escorted back to their unit.

It is important to add that the soldiers of the US Army support the Polish emergency services in their struggle with the ongoing floods in southwestern Poland.
