The new Bugatti Tourbillon amazed the world with its appearance, construction precision and powerful V16 engine. As it turns out, a Polish engineer had a hand in the design of a new French supercar.
Polish industrial design engineer Marek Pawłowicz, a graduate of the Cracow University of Technology, was one responsible for the supercar’s final design as informed by the car manufacturer. The Polish scientist was specifically responsible for the body of the car.
The Bugatti Tourbillon was created as a car that embodies the latest technological achievements in the field of aerodynamics and thermodynamics.
“I was offered a job at Bugatti when I was still at university. This is a unique opportunity for professional and scientific development, which is why I asked the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, prof. Jerzy Sładek for a sabbatical leave, which he granted me. I am very grateful to him for this, because thanks to it I am here for two years now, and I have been able to participate in such a unique project,” says Marek Pawłowicz.
The tourbillon is powered by a new V16 engine. This is the first hybrid in the company’s history, with 1,800 HP, of which 1,000 HP comes from the combustion engine and 800 HP from three separate electric motors.
The car reaches 100 km/h (60 mph) in two seconds and its maximum speed is 445 km/h. The price of the car stands at EUR 3.8 million. The model quantity is limited to 250 pieces.
